1. By each member supplying information to her fellow members which may directly or indirectly be of benefit to them.
2.  
   By each member using the individual services or product of other members whenever possible. The standard which should be applied to this provision is: “All other things being equal, I shall seek out the member representing that particular business or profession unless there is some valid reason that this person is not capable of reasonably fulfilling my need (e.g., noncompetitive price for service or product), or there is a long standing relationship with another person in the same business or profession that should be maintained.”

   Whenever possible services, products or activities offered by LKN Women members should be recommended/referred.

Article III
Meetings

LKN Women shall meet on the first Wednesday of each month at a facility and time, specified and agreed upon by the host and founding members of LKN Women.

Frequency of meetings may increase.

Article IV
Membership

1. All members of LKN Women must maintain an active membership.
2. Each member shall be of good character and maintain a professional reputation.
3. Participation in LKN Women is limited by industry. Limitations will vary.
   
   A. Corrections. The Founders may correct or adjust the industry classification of any member when necessary. Due notice of such proposed correction or adjustment shall be given to the member, who may attend a Founder meeting at which time the proposed correction is to be discussed.
   
   4. Each prospective member shall submit a membership application in the form approved by the Founders, which application shall be submitted to the Founders at least two (2) weeks prior to the vote. Each prospective member must be unanimously approved by the existing members.

        5.  Any prospective member who has been nominated for membership in LKN

        Women may attend one (1) meeting as a guest of the member who has

        nominated that individual.

Article V
Founders

1. The governing body of LKN Women shall be composed of the Founders to be constituted as the Bylaws of LKN Women may provide.
2. Except as herein otherwise specifically provided, the decision of the Founders in all matters shall be final.
3. The Founders shall have control over all officers and committees, and may for good cause declare any office vacant.
4. Founders terms are indefinite.

Article VI
Dues

1. Each member shall pay dues in the amount provided by Bylaws. If said member chooses to pay dues quarterly, they are expected to pay said dues each quarter. Failure to do so will revoke their membership in LKN Women.

Article VII
Duration of Membership

Each member is enrolled for 1 year from the date of their original join.

BYLAWS

1.  Referrals

Members shall not be required to provide a minimum number of referrals, but each member shall be committed to recognizing business opportunities which may be beneficial to other members. A member shall utilize such information only when it is directed specifically to her by a fellow member. When appropriate, a Founder shall allow and encourage members to formally express their appreciation to fellow members who have provided useful information to them regarding some business opportunities.

2.  Requirements for New Members

Prospective members (prospects) may be admitted in accordance with the following criteria:
(A) The prospect shall be engaged in an occupation falling within one of the business classifications approved by the Founders not currently occupied by an existing member.
(B) The prospect shall submit a completed membership application to a current member who, in turn, shall submit it to the Founders for review.
(C) The Founders shall review the application after the prospect has been formally nominated by a current member at a regularly scheduled meeting. Nominations may be made either before or after the application is submitted to the Founders.
(D) The Founders shall fully evaluate the prospective member, taking into consideration all comments from current members as well as the objectives and purposes of the organization, and the Founders shall make the prospective member’s application available for review.

3.  Regular Meetings

LKN Women shall meet on the first Wednesday of each month at a location to be determined by the host and the Founders. The meeting shall consist of the following format:

• Meal or Appetizers
• Member introduction
• Business Spotlight
• Scheduled program not to go over 2 hours
• Discussion of LKN Women business matters
• Informal social time for member to member communication

Each member should be responsible for a program and may consist of any or all of the following:

(A) The nature of her business
(B) Education of current members regarding a particular aspect of her field of business
(C) Current trends in her field of business
(D) How other members may assist her in promoting the growth of her business

Periodically, the Founders may obtain an outside speaker as may be deemed of the interest to LKN Women.

4. Dues

Dues for membership in LKN Women shall be set by the Founders and shall be paid in advance to a Founder.

5. Discretion Regarding LKN Women Membership and Activities

In general, members are encouraged to promote LKN Women in a professional manner. Be it advertising on a members website, including LKN Women logo on flyers, newsletters and email marketing campaigns. You as a member are part of a professional organization and are expected to represent LKN Women in a professional manner at all times.

6. Alternates

A LKN Women member will be considered “present” at regular LKN Women meetings for purposes of complying with the attendance rules stated in the Charter if (a) she is represented by an alternate who is either a principal in the member’s business or who is actively involved in the member’s business, and (b) that member has personally attended at least one-half of the regularly scheduled LKN Women meetings during any given six-month period.

7.  Expect fun

Although we are a Professional Networking group, we expect you to have F-U-N - please come to the meetings with a positive attitude and let yourself laugh!!!

A yearly fee of $200.00

Upon first payment of $50.00, you are agreeing to be a part of LKN Women for 1 year. Failure to continue to pay quarterly dues will revoke your membership in LKN Women.
